Canned Mackerel with Ume Paste and Mayonnaise

Ingredients (serves 2)

Note: This recipe contains peanuts.

  • 1 can mackerel in water (4 oz)

Dressing

  • 1.5 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 oz peanuts, roughly ground
  • 1 pickled ume (umeboshi)

Directions

  1. Step 1

    Drain the canned mackerel and gently pat the surface dry with a paper towel.

  2. Step 2

    Remove the pit from the ume and mince the fruit with a knife.

  3. Step 3

    Combine the mackerel and all dressing ingredients in a bowl, mix well, and serve.
