Meat-Stuffed Raw Green Peppers

The refreshing bitterness of raw pepper and the sweet-salty soboro meat are a natural match for the clean, clear taste of Senju Junmai Ginjo.

Meat-Stuffed Raw Green Peppers

Ingredients (serves 2)

  • 3 or 4 green bell peppers, halved and seeded
  • 7 oz ground meat (beef and pork mix)

Seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sake

Directions

  1. Step 1

    Halve the peppers and remove seeds. Arrange on a serving plate.

  2. Step 2

    Heat a dry pan over medium heat. Add the ground meat and cook, breaking it apart, until browned. Add seasoning and continue cooking until the liquid is absorbed and the meat is glossy. Allow to cool slightly.

  3. Step 3

    Spoon the soboro meat generously into each pepper half and serve.
